What you’ll want to do is give that home screen a quick pinch. And this pops up some options. Down at the bottom, you can change up the wallpaper, which I highly recommend doing because frankly, the default stuff. Some people might like it, but I find it a bit deathly dull.

Fortunately, Samsung does offer some much jazzier options or you can just change it to anything you’ve got in your camera album or anything that you happen to have downloaded as well, like a lot of geeky anime goodness. I also recommend tapping the home screen settings button as well and changing up some of the options here. For instance, you can change up the home screen grid. It’s set to four by six by default, but if you swap that up to five by six, you can pack even more widgets and app icons in there.

And there are lots of other great options here. And if you count yourself a proper Samsung fan, you’ve got lots of different bits of Samsung kit like watches, and earbuds, where you’ll definitely get on with the new battery widgets.

This handy weed bugger gives you a heads-up when your Galaxy Watch or Galaxy buds are running low on juice. And if you scroll down to Device Care, there’s a handy one-tap optimization widget in there.

Although with that snapdragon 8 gen 2 powering this mighty bugger, you shouldn’t need that for years and years, to be honest. The full HD option does help to preserve battery life, but you will get those same gorgeous pin shop visuals packed to the pits with finer detail while you’re in here. You might also want to change up the colors. They are set to vivid by default, but if you want a more natural kind of outlook, well, you can definitely swap to that.

And also if it’s a fiercely sunny day, well, first of all, you obviously don’t live in a blighty. But second of all, as long as you don’t have adaptive brightness active, then you can turn on a bit of extra brightness just to really boost that panel, and make it eye-serenely bright, so you should have no trouble then.

And of course, another good reason for draining your savings to get the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra Tips model beyond the gorgeous screen resolution is that crafty hidden S pen. Now, when you yank this one out, by default, Samsung’s Nifty S pen menu will pop up and this gives you fast access to a whole bunch of apps that make good use of the Stylus.

But as always, this is fully customizable. If you’re not satisfied, you can get rid of any apps you find you don’t really use and then check on any new ones. You could also check how much power is remaining in your S pen.

Got quite a few nifty tools in here, one of the most interesting being the Air actions.

It basically turns the stylus into a kind of remote control, which you might think, what is the point of that? But it could be pretty handy if you do a lot of vlogging. Hello. So I’m actually shooting this video using my S Pen stylist as a remote control. A single tap of that central button there started the video.

If I doubled to the rear camera so you can see my gorgeous fairy core presenter here. Oh, who’s just as knuckled as I am by the looks of it? Another double tap and we are back to the front camera. You can also zoom in by doing a crazy loopy thing to get an extreme course of kuru thoroughly licking himself. So, pretty handy if you want to stick the phone on a tripod and shoot a proper bit of vlog action, rather than some handheld amateur effort like this.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra Tips One-Handed Mode

Now, if you’ve opted for the plus or the ultra-sized model of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra Tips, you might be struggling to reach up to the very top end of that screen, especially if you’ve only got one hand free. Thankfully, there is a one-handed mode you can just drag down at the bottom edge here and as you can see, this shrinks everything down. Thankfully, this is dead easy to activate. It’s very intuitive. You can swap it from the left to the right edges depending on whether you’re left or right-handed.

And this is controlled inside the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra Tips settings menu. Just scroll down until you see advanced features. The one-handed mode is right in there.

Here in the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra Tips series, you’ve also got a return of the edge panels, one of Samsung’s favorite features from yesteryear. By default, this gives you fast access to your most used apps.

You can then give this little icon here a tap and see it open in the split screen view. I’m then going to choose the Chrome app for browsing the web while watching YouTube videos. Just get that resized. This setup will then appear at the top of the edge paddles. You can actually then grab this little icon and drag it down into your shortcuts bar and there it will forever remain until you decide to ditch it or whatever. So whenever you want to get a bit of YouTube and Chrome on the go copy-tap, the job is done.

Now, as we all know, time is very precious. Life is terrifyingly finite. So I’ve got another time-saving tip for you. What you’ll want to do is dive into the settings menu, go to Advanced Features again, and here you’ll find the side key option.

The side key is what a lot of people call the Power button. It used to be the power button until everyone started assigning it to the bloody assistant instead. And as you can see, a quick double poke of this by default will launch the camera app, which is definitely very handy when you suddenly want to take an impromptu shot of your cat or kid doing something unexpectedly cute.

But if you want to, you can change that to a completely different app, whichever you prefer. And while you’re in the side key menu, you might prefer to change the press and hold of that button to the Power Off menu rather than bigsby, depending on your feelings towards bigsby, Obviously.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra Tips Battery And Device Care

If you’re new to Samsung smartphones, you might also want to delve into the battery and device care section of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra Tips. This is a great way of just quickly health checking your expensive, shiny new smartphone.

And again, if you find it’s running sluggishly for whatever reason, you can just click Optimize now or just make sure that everything is hunky dory. And if any bit of your phone doesn’t seem to be working properly, then just dive into the diagnostics section and you can do individual tests on all the random bits.

You can also create lights and groups to turn on everything at once. And the good news is that SmartThings supports many popular Smart home brands and all kinds of different devices. I mean, frankly, SmartThings could be the subject of its entire separate tips and tricks guide.

But one thing I will say is that you don’t have to go into the app every time you want to fiddle about with your Smart Home guddies, just drag down the notifications bar and hit Device control, and boom, all of your bits will be slapped right there on the screen.

And also if you happen to use Google Home rather than smart things where you can just swap between the two quick and easy to quick tap like that. There are also the smart things widgets I mentioned earlier. Or you can just use Bigsb if you really must.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra Tips Modes And Routines

Now, automation and time-saving have always been a big theme of One UI and it’s as big as ever here in One UI version 5.1. If you’re a fan of automation, well, you’ll definitely want to get involved with the mods and Routine section, right here in the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra Tips settings, there are various preset modes that you can quickly and easily set up where you can manually enter any of these modes at any point on your Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra Tips smartphone.

You can also have them automatically pop up. So for instance, between set times to your sleep schedule here in the sleep mode, in fact, you’ve got a huge variety of conditions that you can choose to Kickstarter mode. So location, for instance, using the phone’s GPS, can automatically detect when you’ve arrived at home or at work. And then when you get to work, you can have it changed to something entirely more gratuitous, a few geeky animation anigans and whatnot. And while you are here in the mods and Routines section, I would recommend checking out the routines bit of it.

This allows you to automate some of the stuff you find yourself doing over and over, like activating and securing WiFi when you leave home, or just switching off notifications and automatic brightness and all that kind of stuff. When you’re playing a game, as in this example, it’s simple if this, then that setup.

So if the conditions are all met, then it will follow through with whatever you want it to do. As you can see, there are absolutely chuffing loads of if conditions and plenty of vents as well. You could basically have this phone do whatever you want it to do. So for instance, when you’re gaming, you might want to get a bit of heavy metal Spotify playlist action on the ghost, I mean a pump, the old adrenaline.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra Tips Security And Privacy

Now, another very important section here in the settings menu on the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra Tips is security and privacy.

This is, of course where you’ll set up all of your biometrics, your fingerprint, and your face recognition data. And the privacy section is well worth getting accustomed to as well. Here you can view all of the permissions for all of your apps. Very handy indeed. So for instance, you can quickly and easily see exactly what has access to your camera.

You can see exactly when that feature has been accessed and by what. The same goes for your contacts view location. So you can see if anything untoward is happening there or if anything dodgy is going on. You can dive into the app section, find the app in question, and hit this little cog that appears in the top right corner and you can revoke any privileges that you like.

And one of the best things about the Galaxy S23 smartphones is the fact that they are absolute beefcakes.

They can blaze through any game out there, including good old Gentle Impact, my favorite. And did you know they have a dedicated gaming mode as well? All you got to do is drag down from the top end of the screen, pull down that notifications bar and the game booster mode is in there. Let’s have some handy tips like how much longer you can expect to gain before your S23 phone will die on its arse. And you’ve also got the priority mode as well.

If you want to completely block all notifications, and really focus on the game in hand, you could also have that priority mode come on by default by going into the Game launcher app. You’ve got the priority mode option there for your games. So now you’ve got absolutely no excuse when you get your face pounded in by weird troll things or whatever the hell this is.

And last up for this is Samsung Galaxy S23 Tips and Tricks Guide. One of the other best features here on these fresh new 2023 blooms is, of course, the camera.

Now, I’ve already shared a couple of quick camera tips and tricks, such as the ability to fast load it with a double tap of that side button and the weird shenanigans with the S pen using it as a remote control. But there are some other little nifty hidden features here in the Galaxy Camera app. So for instance, did you know you can drag down on that shutter button in order to take a burst shot? There you go. I now have 84 identical snaps of a very static anime figure.

But it is of course very handy though when you do have a cat or a kid or something that won’t stand still you’re trying to take a shot. And another quick tip if you dive into the Galaxy Camera app settings you can actually change it. So swiping that shutter button creates a gif rather than taking a burst shot. Quite handy for customizing your always-on-display.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra Tips Expert RAW

And of course, don’t forget about Samsung’s extra bonus camera modes as well. The likes of Single Take are also great for kids and pet owners. And if you are a keen photographer, the good news is on the S23 series you can now quickly and easily access Samsung’s expert Raw mode right here in the More section. Shooting in Raw is fantastic if you want to edit your picks on the fly on your smartphone.

And you’ve now got a 50-megapixel option as well as just the 12-megapixel that was available on the previous generation in the settings you can choose to shoot high-efficiency Raw if you do want to save a bit of storage space because obviously, those Raw images are rather big. You could also capture in Raw and jpeg simultaneously.

And you will also spot an astrophotography option up here in the top toolbar as well. If you are trying to snap some constellations for whatever reason.

And once you’ve taken your shots, that’s not necessarily the end of it all as well. You can dive into the Gallery app and quickly edit with a poker-less weed pencil icon. You got the usual tools in there you can crop into a picture a bit, and you can change up the look and vibe with a filter, one of the best tools you’ll find that is buried away if you tap this three-dot icon here and go to Object eraser.

This allows you to get rid of any crap in your picture that you really don’t like. So for instance, you can erase shadows in just a jiffy. You can also ditch any reflections if you’re shooting a view out of a window for instance. And you can basically draw around anything that you do not like the look of and your S23 will obliterate it like it never even existed. It’s absolutely brilliant.

You can erase entire people like you’re a malevolent god and they’re just your will and play things.
